[Christiansburg, VA] February 25, 2025— The New River Valley Home Builders Association (NRVHBA) presented the Excellence in Building Awards at their annual Gala event on Saturday, February 15th. Ian Friend, Project Manager at SAS Builders and President of the NRVHBA, shares that the 2025 award cycle saw a record number of nominations.

The NRVHBA Excellence in Building Awards serves as a platform to honor dedicated professionals in the building industry for their outstanding projects that demonstrate innovation and creativity and push the boundaries of excellence. The design excellence awards are judged blindly by industry experts from across the country. The awards nominees are required to submit design plans, client letters of satisfaction, project statements, and before/after photography.

Alongside the design excellence awards, the NRVHBA recognizes individuals and companies who have served their community & the association in outstanding fashion. Stephanie Bell with Foresight Design Services was awarded the NRVHBA Service Award for going above and beyond for the association throughout 2024.

Setter Construction received the Community Impact Award, for demonstrating outstanding community service and impact throughout the NRV for their efforts in trades education and workforce development.

New River Valley Building Supply was recognized as the Associate of the Year by consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction. They set a high standard for the industry while supporting and strengthening local projects and the community.

Slate Creek Builders won the coveted Builder of the Year for fostering positive community feedback and expanded partnerships. They’ve launched a new arm of their business, bringing innovative services like custom closets and interior design to the New River Valley while growing their team and increasing involvement at the state and national association level.
