Back to Nature Landscaping is a successful and BUSY landscape Install and Maintenance contractor who has been helping employees build a better life in Blacksburg, VA and the New River Valley for over 8 years. We provide many landscaping services from mowing to hardscaping.

Day in the life of Landscape, Maintenance, & Hardscape Leaders:

• Meeting with the Maintenance Director/Project Manager every morning to go over tasks and goals for the day and week.
• Loading your truck as needed with material and machinery.
• Mobilizing your crew to truck with all proper tools and equipment for each day’s tasks.
• Assessing site and what tasks / goals are needed.
• Interacting with clients as needed on each property.
• Performing tasks set up by yourself and by the Maintenance Director/Project Manager.
• Managing 2 - 4 man crews and organizing jobs so that they are performed efficiently.
• Managing materials and subcontractors as needed per job site.
• Tracking time for yourself and your crew via our mobile app system.
• Finalizing job sites for the end of the day.
• End of day clean up and load / unload for the next day at our shop.

Requirements: The following requirements vary by the category of crew leader. Being sufficient in any of the below requirements may make you suitable for a crew leader position with Back to Nature.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Can manage and run crews of 2 people minimum.
• Has Equipment knowledge of some or all of the following:
• Skid Steer ( basic operating skills )
• Mini Excavator ( basic operating skills )
• Compact Track Loader ( Dingo or Ditch Witch ) ( basic operating knowledge )
• Truck and Trailer
• String Line Trimmers
• Hedge Trimmers
• Stand On mowers with and without velkys
• Zero turn mowers
• Backpack and handheld blowers
• Metal Blade Edgers
• Understands proper horticulture techniques in regards to:
  • Planting
  • Pruning
  • Mulching
• Can read basic landscape drawings.
• Can read Zip or Transit levels.
• Willing to perform snow & ice removal as necessary.
• Owns a smartphone and has basic knowledge of usage (Including time and material capture)

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
