NRVHBA Microgrant Program - 2025 Special Funding Cycle

Thank you for applying for the 2025 special funding cycle of the NRVHBA Microgrant Program. This funding cycle is aimed at funding classroom projects that will begin in the fall of 2025. In this funding cycle, we have up to $6,000 available for selected projects. There are no limitations on how much funding you request with this cycle. Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, we will be adjusting the grant program and cycle, which is why we have this special funding cycle. More information to come!

The NRVHBA Microgrant Program provides funding for special projects and/or materials within elementary and secondary classrooms that aligns with the workforce development interests of the home building and construction industry. This program can provide the opportunity for teachers to enhance their curriculum, maximize opportunities for their students, and encourage interest in construction trades careers. Teachers and/or CTE Directors will be required, as part of their application, to describe how their project helps to either raise awareness of careers in the construction trades or give students practical experience in a trade that they can use outside of the classroom.

Grants awarded must be spent in the 2025-2026 school year. For those who are selected to receive grants, you will receive the funding at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Grant recipients will be required to submit a short grant report via email upon completion of the project. The grant report shall include pictures and/or video of the project, as well as a summary of how the project and grant funds satisfied the original project goals and how it impacted your students and classroom. The report should be no more than 500 words and submitted at the completion of the project, but no later than the end of the school year.

Examples of past funding requests:

  • Materials for the building of a pergola to be used by students at the school
  • Classroom Project: Learn how to drywall from start to finish

Guidelines for successful applications:

  • State clearly how the project will benefit the students and how it ties to learning about the construction trades or career paths
  • Be clear about what the funds will be directly used for and include a budget  - i.e. materials, equipment, outside speakers/trips, other resources

What does not qualify for funding?

  • Parties
  • Stand-alone transportation costs
  • Projects that can be or are already funded in the school's budget
  • Projects that cannot be completed in the current school year
  • Past winners who have not submitted a grant summary
